Hyemi Sun is a PhD student and full-time research assistant at the College of Nursing, Yonsei University. She began her career after earning a bachelor’s degree from the Korea Armed Forces Nursing Academy and later obtained a master’s degree in early childhood education from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. With nine years of clinical experience as a nursing officer in diverse settings—including the operating room, medical-surgical units, emergency department, intensive care unit, and psychiatric ward—she developed a broad clinical perspective. Additionally, her seven years of service as a daycare center school nurse and a city hall occupational nurse afforded her extensive community and public health experience. Hyemi’s research integrates global nursing, digital health, and social determinants of health (SDOH) to address sedentary behavior. She develops technology-driven interventions that help people manage daily health habits and investigates how occupational factors contribute to sedentary lifestyles, ultimately aiming to support healthier work environments.
